Verified accounts, tracked trips
Sharing a vehicle with someone works when both sides are identifiable and the trip leaves a record. Here is exactly what HeyGo checks, what it stores, and what stays your responsibility.
What the platform does
Six things that are checked or recorded
No platform can promise a perfect trip. What it can do is make sure nobody is anonymous and nothing is unrecorded.
OTP-verified accounts
Registration is not finished until the mobile number is verified. An unverified account cannot sign in, and a fresh OTP is sent to the registered email automatically.
Driver licence on file
Drivers upload a photo of their driving licence during onboarding, alongside their personal details.
Vehicle on record
Registration number, name, model, class and a photo of the vehicle are recorded, so what is published is what should arrive.
Published payload
Goods vehicles carry a stated capacity in kilograms. Overloading is a safety problem before it is a service problem.
Tracked trip status
The trip moves through statuses you can follow, and you confirm completion at the end rather than leaving it open.
Reviews after the trip
Completed trips can be reviewed, so behaviour on the platform carries forward instead of disappearing.
Your part
Six habits worth keeping
These are not platform features. They are the things experienced riders, shippers and drivers do every time, and they matter more than any badge on a profile.
- 1 Share your trip details with a family member or friend before you travel.
- 2 Check the vehicle number against what was published before you get in or load.
- 3 Keep the booking and the conversation inside the platform, so there is a record.
- 4 For goods, be honest about the weight, an overloaded vehicle is unsafe for everyone on the road.
- 5 Agree pickup and drop points clearly, especially for partial-leg intercity trips.
- 6 In an emergency call 112 first, then tell us at heygo.travel24@gmail.com.
FAQ
Safety questions
Is carpooling safe in India?
Sharing a car with a stranger is safer when both people are identifiable and the trip is recorded. On HeyGo every account is OTP-verified, drivers upload their licence and vehicle details, and the trip status is tracked, none of which is true of an informal lift.
How are HeyGo drivers verified?
Drivers verify their mobile number by OTP and upload a photo of their driving licence and of the vehicle, along with the registration number, model, class and payload capacity.
What should I do before any shared trip?
Share the trip details with someone you trust, check that the vehicle matches what was published, and keep the booking inside the platform so there is a record of it.
What if something goes wrong during a trip?
Contact the driver first through the booking, then email heygo.travel24@gmail.com with your registered mobile number and the booking reference. In an emergency, contact the police on 112 first.
Travel with people who verified who they are
